Puffers are huge this season. What was once looked upon as bulky non-fashionable cold weather outerwear is now one of the season’s biggest trends. We’re seeing puffers everywhere from fast fashion retailers to high street brands to luxury designers in bright colors, prints, and super high shine. This once bulky piece of outerwear is not being worn just for warmth for the fall/winter months anymore, they are the new stylish jacket being worn in new chic ways. One way to rock the trend is to create an elevated sporty athleisure look, mixing your track pant with an unexpected dressier top or heeled bootie. Another way that has been taking over is the puffer over gowns and cocktail dress. This is probably my favorite trend because of the unexpected but cool twist. There is no more reaching for your fur as your jacket for the cold months, it’s about reaching for the puffer jacket that is pared down in essence but that gives off an undone effortless feel.
Since the puffer trend is one of my favorites of the season, I went for this shorter black hooded version that is a little more wearable for different looks. For an elevated casual look, this comfortable mini skirt with silver metal grommets and a suede lace up maintains the edge, my graphic tee adds playfulness, and knee high satin boots for all the dressed up sassiness.
With this puffer it's all about the design of the hood -- the oversized hood is attached in a collar-like design. There is nothing I love more when it comes to fashion than pieces that are unique in detailing yet that are classic in longevity.
