I love taking a few of my simplistic pieces in my wardrobe to create a streamlined casual look. Recently I attended an event that hosted Laurie Underwood, Project Runway Cycle 14 designer, and the unveiling of her Autumn/Winter "Glam Classic" Collection in which I wore this white long overcoat to create a more edgy look. (See a few photos on my Instagram.)
Instead of my edgier look with black leather leggings and layered statement neck-pieces, I went for a casual jeans look. To keep with the minimal aesthetic, I added my new neck tie scarf (ascot or choker) that I've been a little obsessed with lately.
One of the trends for the last couple seasons and the A/W 16 season is the neck tie accessory. It's been seen on the runways of Chloe, Elie Saab, Rodarte, 10 Crosby Derek Lam, and Fenty Puma by Rihanna. I love this trend's varying interpretations from 70s inspired to grunge to sporty to dark romantic elegance. Paired with my casual look, the neck tie accessory is a nice added detail for chic simplicity.
(Did you peep the 'YOLO' writing in the background of my photos?! Perfect and ironic as this has been the motto I've been saying for the last week.)
I want to know if you're feeling the neck tie accessory trend. Share your thoughts by clicking the comment link below. :)
