It's funny to think that not too long along I was not a fan of pink as a color to own in my wardrobe. I thought pink was "too girly" and just not all that edgy for my personal style. And the only exception to this rule for me then was a vintage skirt I purchased years ago: a shade darker then hot pink with a black floral print (the black adds edge). Really, the only trace of pink you would've found me wearing. But more recently I have been obsessing over this soft pink pastel color that is being coined "Millennial Pink". Not sure how my love of this color came to be exactly but it is having a moment in my wardrobe right now, especially this distressed denim jacket. What I love most about this jacket is that the color is unexpected with a distressed edge appeal. I'm all about styling and pieces that are a little unexpected or with cool detailing.
To keep it edgy but clean, I reached for my black high waist jeans that have been on serious rotation; seriously living in these. I do not do well with anything that isn't a high waist or that doesn't have a higher stretch to cotton ratio. But these jeans nicknamed the Margot have a curve and contoured waistband technology with amazing stretch that fits my shape perfectly. I have the hardest time with denim as I have a small waist and curvier hips (aka slim thick) but I swear by these jeans. With jeans comfort is key and the most important.
As for my graphic band tank, I actually purchased it at a Sleighbells concert maybe five years ago. I'm a fan of Sleighbells and their loud guitar riffed bass heavy music so of course naturally I wanted to own a piece of memorabilia. Though I own band tees that I purchased from retailers, this one has significance and is a reminder of a fun time in my life. For a sassy feel, I like a strappy heel which adds a bit of chic; and for a little unexpected, I like my yellow python cross body to pick up the yellow in my tank. So there ya have it, a look that is streetstyle cool and far from "girly".
