The Kit and Ace Showroom

A few weeks back I received an email asking if I would like to come check out the new Kit and Ace showroom opening in Downtown Detroit. And my answer was a definite yes. Right off the main street Woodward sits the showroom, making it the second major retailer to open its doors in Downtown Detroit. Kit and Ace's aesthetic is built upon elevated basics with a luxe feel with their staple technical cashmere while remaining relaxed and easy with it's designs.

The open lofty space houses a larger variety of styles than its former midtown studio location. Probably the most exciting for me was seeing how Kit and Ace incorporated more stylized pieces into the space while keeping with their aesthetic. The more stylized designs are finished with another Kit and Ace signature, copper hardware, including this casual black v-neck daydress.

A favorite of mine is this olive green/heather grey a-line hi-lo top and these comfy casual shorts with a sweatshort waistband drawstring detail that I love. These shorts have a cool design giving them a city street-style edge.

Thank you Kit and Ace for having me.

Aldo A-List Sip & Shop Party

When you are invited to shop and hang out while listening to a DJ spin some dance tunes at one of your favorite stores, the answer is a definite yes. A couple weeks ago, I visited Aldo at Twelve Oaks Mall for their Sip & Shop along with a few Detroit bloggers and fashion followers. Being an Aldo fan, there was no doubt I had to try on some of the styles from their newest collection. One of my favorite styles are the Adeasien, a pair of lace- up over the knee green khaki boots that I have been lusting over since their launch last month. ‘Adeasien’ are street- style perfection and a funky wardrobe staple with it’s versatility in this cool neutral.

As a shoe lover and Aldo fan, it’s hard not to love their selection of affordable fashion forward footwear. During the Sip & Shop a special promo on top of promo was even more incentive to shop. For their selection of sale shoes, a thirty percent off plus an additional fifteen percent off promo was offered. Just another reason to shop Aldo, right? Thanks to Aldo at Twelve Oaks Mall for the shopping fun and hangs!

Lord & Taylor Cosmetic Trend Event and Fashion Show

Back in October I had the opportunity to team up with Lord & Taylor at Lakeside Mall to style and model a look for the fashion show segment of their Cosmetic Trend Event. The focus was to style a head to toe Fall look with pieces from their exclusive in house contemporary shop, Design Lab mixed with other contemporary brands. For my look, I wanted to keep it city girl casual– a look that can work for a teen girl, mom on the go, or the chicka that just wants to be stylish and comfortable. As for cosmetics, my makeup artist Lisa from Clinique went for a bold look with gold shadow and red lips.

It was a pleasure to be apart of this event alongside some of Metro Detroit’s bloggers and fashion darlings. Special thanks to Nicole Willard, the General Manager of Lord & Taylor at Lakeside Mall, Leah V. of Beauty and the Muse for inviting me, and Scott Mitchell for some of the above photos.
